I went to see the new Star Trek movie last night sponsored by Techcrunch and Eventbrite. First of all, I would like to thank you Techcrunch for sponsoring this event. The ticket is $2, but it also comes with free Popcorn and Soft Drinks paid by Microsoft Live Search and Trapster. The greatest thing about these kind of sponsored event, is the way these companies professionaly organize these event. The movie starts at 7 PM at Century 20 in Downtown Redwood City. We arrived around 5:30 pm and thought that there will be a huge line, but there was no line whatsoever. Everything was professionaly arranged by Techcrunch staff. Exactly at 5:45 pm they gave out the tickets and our popcorn and drink vouchers. 6 PM we got in the theater and wait.. At 6:50 pm Michael Arrington (the founder of Techcrunch) welcoming and thanking us with his speech. Also introducing the other companies who’s sponsoring this event as well. 7 PM sharp, the movie started.

First of all, I am not a Star Trek fan. So I don’t really have any expectation in how this movie is going to turn out. At the beginning of the movie, the story line was very interesting. This is a really beginning of Star Trek saga. So it’s telling us the story of Cpt. Kirk, how he enlist with U.S.S Enterprise, etc. I think still the viewer must definitely have seen or know who’s Cpt. Kirk, and the rest of the staff of U.S.S Enterprise. But for those who never seen Star Trek before, this movie is also enjoyable to watch.

The new Star Trek movie is definitely over my expectation. It’s a really Awesome movie and it’s a MUST WATCH Summer Blockbuster. Go see it now.
